Gardening tools are used for gardens. Garden tools can help you grow a garden of your own. In ancient times, the garden tools were made of wood, flint and bone. Later they were made by using metals, such as copper, iron and steel.

Types of gardening tools:
Different types of gardening tools include hand tools and power tools. The common garden hand tools are spade, garden hoe, garden fork, garden rake, pitchfork and the plough.
Different types of digging tools are specially designed to dig the soil for gardening. A round point shovel is good for digging holes for plants. Spade is a kind of shovel, which are square edged and used to dig in the dirt. Trowel looks like a spade, which may be wide or narrow and can be used to dig small holes for your plants.
A spading fork is flat, square shaped and has long metal fork tines. This tool is used to break up the large pieces of dirt. There is a difference between garden rakes and lawn rakes. Hoes are flat-angled garden tools, which are used to dig up weeds. Few types of garden hoes have a double-pronged weeding tool on one side and a flat metal section on the other.
Lawn movers were the first power tool, which became popular with the gardeners. The other power tools are lawn aerators, irrigation sprinklers, leaf blowers and mini-tractors.
Grass trimmers are used to cut areas of grass lawns.
Pruning shears are available in hand and power types. These tools are necessary because they are used to trim plants and remove dead branches.
There are various types of leaf collection tools to clean up the leaves of your garden such as clog free leaf rake, leaf scoops, rollable leaf collection bag etc.
There are electronic garden tools, which makes the gardening easier and save time. These tools are namely electronic soil tester, leaf mulcher and aqua timer.
Different watering tools such as hoses, watering cans, sprinklers, and water nozzles are used to water the plants. Having all these different types of tools reduces the work you have to do.
